Rolled Oats are recommended for stove top cooking.
Place 1 cup of rolled oats into a saucepan with 2 1/2 cups of water or milk. Bring to the boil. Continue to stir and cook for 4 to 5 minutes until oats have thickened to a creamy texture. Use more or less liquid to vary the thickness and taste, allow to cool before serving.
Place 1/2 cup of rolled oats in to a microwave safe container with 3/4 cup of milk or water. Cook on high for 1 1/2 minutes, stir thoroughly and then cook for a further 1 minute on high. Stir and allow to cool before serving.
